Empty Your Drawers for AIDS Emergency Fund!

Some scratch their heads about why some men walk around the Castro with little clothes and less to do. But, on this day, we’ll be dropping our drawers for a good cause!

Join BRIDGEMEN as we volunteer for AIDS Emergency Fund's semianual penny drive in the Castro, where Every Penny Counts! We’ll be encouraging our neighbors and friends to donate to those in need, living with AIDS and HIV.

Afterwards, we'll gather together at a soon-to-be named establishment and carry on the fun and get to know one another better.

Contact Nick at (415)[masked] x231 for more information.

I look forward to seeing each of you on saturday at Castro and Market streets at the top of the Castro Muni stairs. The event is 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. If you could arrive by 10:50 that would be great so I can fill you in about what is taking place and give you some information sheets for you to use. It WILL be a FUN time. Ansd hope to see you afterwards as well. By the end of Wednesday, I will have a place decided on for us to go after the event. Please dress in layers as you never know what the wind and weather will be be at that intersection. I will bring some sunscreen, but if you have a favorite, by all means bring it. AEF will be providing beverages during the event and I will see about getting some snacks as well.Thank you. i truly appreciate your help with "Empty Your Drawers".

Thank you everyone for signing up. I am amazed at the number of Bridgemen that have signed up and it is great to see so many newew members. I, and the rest of the AEF staff appreciate you donating part of your Saturday to help our clients . I am also a client of AEF. AEF helped me keep a roof over my head in very darkm times as well as helped me with my PG&E past due bill and helped me with some medical bills. It is because of community members like you wanting to make a difference that I and others are able to receive help. 100% percent of what we raise on August 3 goes to help AEF clients. Not only will we raise money, but we will also raise the awareness of AIDS Emergency Fun and the needs of low-income San Franciscans disabled by HIV/AIDS. Empty Your Drawers is a throw-back to the beginning of the agency. I look forward to August 3rd. Join us afterwards at a soon to be determined establishment.

AEF was able to serve two new clients that otherwise would not have been able to use our services. AEF helps with back rent & utilities, medical bills or prescription costs. We have a lot of fun during those fiur hours. Empty Your Drawers is basically reintroducing Every Penny Counts and AEF to the community. People actually bring their change from their home piggy banks like they did in the old days. Every Penny Counts is AEF's longest running and oldest fundraiser - 26 years old! You will be helping spread the message of the work AEF does and raising money as we engage our community members and passers-by. AIDS is not over and until no one seroconverts or those of us on medicine do do not have to take another pill, AIDS is not over. There will be a need for AEF services until that day. So we keep fundraising...

We will get together afterwards at a soon-to-be named establishment and carry on the fun and getting to know one another better. Thank you again for volunteering.
