NAO SANTA MARIA, a replica of Christopher Columbus' flagship from 1492, out of Seville, Spain, will be in town on February 22 through March 03 and we always need volunteer manpower for these port visits as we get inundated with THOUSANDS of people. People pour out of the woodwork when there is a sailing ship in the river.
We'll need folks to man the top doors to the levee and the upstairs galleries (looking for shenanigans), people to assist the Gift Shop and front door (last time we had lines out the front door and down the street), and assistance on the KIDD's quarter deck and the gangway/barge to SANTA MARIA (for traffic control).
Our hours of operation will be slightly different for this event:
9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (M-F)
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Sat.- Sun.)
With those hours, volunteer shifts would be as follows:
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Sat. - Sun. mornings)
2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Sat. - Sun. afternoons)
The weekends are going to be the most heavily trafficked and where we will need the most volunteers, but weekday volunteers are also welcome. Sunday (March 03) is also a Free 1st Sunday and will be MASSIVELY attended, so this date is where we will see the most dire need for volunteers.
