This system incorporates martial arts and a series of prescribed movements which modern research has shown to be highly effective in keeping its practitioners healthy, happy and fit.
Cloud Tai Chi is based on the Taoist philosophy and incorporates many of the elements of traditional Chinese medicine including acupuncture. Facilitator REUBEN FERNANDEZ
Reuben Fernandez began his martial arts studies in Brooklyn, New York as a young teen studying Judo under Sensei Rusty Kanokogi, with whom he studied for five years.
After leaving the New York area Reuben’s love of the martial arts led him to explore a number of other arts including Aikido, Kiu Ki Do Karate as well as a number of other styles. More than ten years ago Reuben began his studies of Chen Tai Chi and Qi Gung in Hollywood, Florida under Master Max Gaofei Yan.
Master Yan is the author of the book, “What is Chi?” Under Master Yan, Reuben has developed his skills as well as his love and appreciation of this art which is based on the tenets of Taoism.
Our purpose in this practice is to become like water and to apply these same principles in our daily living. While the martial applications are always present and important, the deeper purpose is to master one’s inner self.
Based on this thinking, the focus of our class will be to give the players (practitioners) the techniques and practices which lead them to inner relaxation and to the application of these practices in all of their interactions. Tai Chi will pay tremendous dividends to the player (practitioner) who makes the investment in time and in wholehearted and sincere practice.
