Do we really need a group where people meet one Sunday afternoon a month and share desserts that they baked at home?
So let's crowd source some delicious baked goods, trade some baking tips and recipes and even venture out to sample some of the amazing bakeries that have popped up in SF in recent years.
Who should sign-up? People who love to bake... and are willing to roll with things. It's hard to get potentially fun groups off the ground with high maintenance people. (And let's face it, their company makes baked goods taste bad!)
Kid/teen bakers welcome if accompanied by an adult!
Group Details: Meetups are in SF. We will keep gatherings small at first as we figure out how to make this an awesome, sustainable group.
All members are asked to RSVP "Yes/No" by the 21st of each month for the upcoming month's meetup to stay in the group.
Please only RSVP for an event if you plan to attend. Members will be dropped if they do not attend events that they RSVP for.
This is our first meetup and I am looking forward to meeting everybody!
I have more specific ideas for future meetings but let's keep this first gathering simple. Bake whatever you like at home and bring it to share while you meet some new friends who share your love of baking.
We are meeting at 3pm so baked treats (cookies, pies, cakes, brownies, donuts, pastries etc.) are better than loaves of bread. But you might have some takers if you made some pizza as a mid afternoon snack?
(And while technically not baking... we are open to ice cream making, and chocolate making since they are often taught in baking programs.)
We can make some tea, enjoy some wine or dunk what we bring in some olde fashioned milk.
All baking experience levels welcome--novice to advanced!
Just no store bought baked goods please...we will stare at you and make you feel awkward if you try to pass off store bought stuff as your own.
Please sign up only if you are willing to roll with things. It's hard to get potentially fun groups off the ground with high maintenance people. (And let's face it, their company makes baked goods taste bad!)
And please RSVP only if you plan on attending. Members who RSVP and are no shows will be dropped from the group.
(Exact SF location address info will be sent 3-4 days before the event to members who have rsvped.)
