  • RNIB Dotty Bake Sale

Royal National Institute Of Blind People (RNIB)

Hello Bakers, I am pleased to announce our first bake of 2019 in aid of our longest standing partner, the Royal National Institute of Blind People, on Wednesday 1 May 2019. Key Details: Time: 11am - 3pm Bakers will be able to drop off their baked goods in the morning before the event if needed. Bakers will also be taken on a tour of the RNIB's HQ if they are interested, which is a great opportunity for bakers to see where the proceeds of our bakes sales are spent for this charity. Location: RNIB HQ, 105 Judd Street, WC1H 9NE Their HQ is just a few minutes walk from Kings Cross underground station. Theme: the bake sale is being held as part of the RNIB's "Wear Dots" initiative to raise awareness of braille technology so anything dotty would be greatly appreciated. • Bake A Difference - Social Event

    Location visible to members

Hello Bakers, As our first social event is fast approaching I wanted to send round a few more details about the event. To keep to a reasonable budget, I will be hosting the event at my apartment in Clapham Junction, which I hope, as a central location will make it easy for bakers to access! So as not to share my address with the world...please let me know if you are coming to the event and I will share my exact address with you. In true bake off style, please bring along a signature bake of your choice that you would be happy to share with the group. There will be a selection of refreshments available including an alcoholic punch! This will be a great opportunity for bakers to get to know eachother in an informal context. In addition, it will also be a chance to reflect on the successes that we have enjoyed over the last year or so. I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. Kind Regards, Ellie

  • RNIB Bake - Bradbury House Christmas Party 8Dec18

    Needs a location

Hi Everyone, I am very happy to say that Bake A Difference will once again be supporting the RNIB in donating some delicious baked goods for a special event at Bradbury Oak House, one of the RNIB's residential homes in Dulwich. The House will be putting on a Christmas Party for the residents on Saturday 8th December 2018 between 3 PM and 8 PM and we will be providing some baked goods for dessert. If you would like to stay and help out on the day, please let me know. Otherwise, you will be able to drop off anytime in the day prior to 3PM. We have had a request for a victoria sponge and some sugar free / diabetes friendly bakes, so these are especially welcome! We did a similar event in the summer which was a great day and we know the residents really appreciated the time that the bakers put in. Any questions, please let me know by e-mail [masked] or give me a call on[masked]. Thank you as always, Ellie

  • St John's Hopsice - Christmas Fayre 2Dec18

    Needs a location

Hi Everyone, Bake A Difference is proud to be supporting St John's Hospice for the 4th time this year at it's Christmas Fayre on St John's Wood High Street on Sunday 2nd December 2018. The event will begin at 11 AM and go onto 6 PM. I will be there in advance of that (from around 10:30 AM) to set up. And if you need to drop off baked goods before that time, please let me know and we can arrange this. We are doing a Christmas themed bake and we have been asked to provide the following baked items: Mince Pies Ginger Biscuits Chocolate Roulade The St John's team has asked us to focus on these three items so that we have a good volume of each item. Therefore, I would ask bakers to please stick to baking one of the above items, however, of course, variations of the above are of course welcome e.g. vegan, sugar free, complementary flavours e.g. chocolate and chestnut etc. If you would like to stay to help on the day, please let me know. It should be a really fun day with lots of other festive stalls to see! Any questions, please contact [masked] Thank you! Ellie

  • Bake A Difference - RNIB 150th Birthday Bake

Hi All, We have been invited by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to celebrate their 150th birthday next week on Wednesday 17th October! They are celebrating by sharing stories of how RNIB has supported blind and partially sighted people over the years - https://www.rnib.org.uk/who-we-are/rnib-150/your-stories and they wanted to hold a bake sale to raise money for their work. They have asked for Bake a Difference to bake / sell cakes to their staff and visitors at their head office in Kings Cross. It would be great to have birthday themed cakes and any 150th references would be amazing!! We also invite bakers to stay to help out at the sale and have the opportunity to meet RNIB staff, colleagues and supporters as well as take a tour of the resource centre which sells products to blind and visually impaired people helping them to be independent in their everyday life. This will be a great opportunity for bakers to get a better idea of what the money raised will go towards. Bake sale to take place at RNIB reception area, 105 Judd Street, Kings Cross, London, WC1H 9NE at 11am - 2pm. The reception opens at 7:30 am so bakers can drop off cakes beforehand from this time onwards. I may be able to meet you earlier if needs be. Any questions, please let me know by replying to this message, e-mailing me [masked] or calling me on[masked]. Thank you! Ellie
