• Bake A Difference - Medicens Sans Frontieres

London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine

Good Evening Bakers, I am please to announce our second bake in quick succession with Médecins Sans Frontières, which will be next Tuesday evening (16th July). Key details are as follows: Location: London School of Hygiene and tropical Medicine, Keppel St, Bloomsbury, London WC1E 7HT Time: 4:30pm to 8:30 pm Cake drop off: bakers will be able to drop their bakes off at MSF's office nearby throughout the day on either day Lower Ground Floor, Chancery Exchange, 10 Furnival Street,London,EC4A 1AB and their team can take the bakes across for you. This event is one of a series of panel events that MSF organises for its supporters to tell them more about the work of MSF and how their money is spent. Each of the panels is made up of a number of MSF field staff recently returned from working overseas for MSF who bring their experience to life during a short presentation. The audience then has the opportunity to ask questions of the panel. Bakers are welcome to attend the panel event, which I think will be a really interesting experience. There will be over 300 people attending this event (3 times the one that we did yesterday) and we are planning to open the stall to students of the school prior to the event to get even more sales. Bake A Difference will be providing a range of baked goods for the attendees to purchase during and after the event, with all the proceeds going to MSF. Given the type of event, I would suggest that bakers stick to things that are easier to eat i.e. cupcakes, brownies, biscuits etc. i.e. best to avoid large iced cakes which may be difficult to cut / eat. If you would be interested in baking, please do let me know! Ellie

  • Bake A Difference - Social Event

    Location visible to members

Hello Bakers, As our first social event is fast approaching I wanted to send round a few more details about the event. To keep to a reasonable budget, I will be hosting the event at my apartment in Clapham Junction, which I hope, as a central location will make it easy for bakers to access! So as not to share my address with the world...please let me know if you are coming to the event and I will share my exact address with you. In true bake off style, please bring along a signature bake of your choice that you would be happy to share with the group. There will be a selection of refreshments available including an alcoholic punch! This will be a great opportunity for bakers to get to know eachother in an informal context. In addition, it will also be a chance to reflect on the successes that we have enjoyed over the last year or so. I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. Kind Regards, Ellie

If you would like to stay and help out on the day, please let me know. Otherwise, you will be able to drop off anytime in the day prior to 3PM.
