The "I Love My Pet" Improv Show

Come see why more than 217 people packed into the Actor’s Theatre to watch OTC Improv’s last sold out show!

Over The Counter Improv

The “I Love My Pet” improv show

Please join us on Saturday, March 23rd at 8pm

Location: Actor’s Theater of Charlotte

It’s a little known fact that half of our improv team has too much testosterone which makes them funny but also quite furry; not to mention, the more genteel side of our team has blown through cases of Electrolysis and Nair products; therefore, I’ve decided to have a show loosely based on Darwin’s theory of evolution!!!

And what better way to honor my evolving improv-petting-zoo than having a show dedicated to all types of pets. If you have a pet, hope to get a pet, or consider your loved one a pet; please join OTC improv on Saturday, March 23rd, for the “I love my pet” improv show.

Feel free to submit a picture (.JPG, .GIF, or .PNG) by March 15th of you and your pet for a pre-event slideshow to be shown from 7:15pm - 8:00pm on March 23rd at the Actor’s Theatre. Send the picture, your name, the pet’s name, and your email address to: [masked]

I was disappointed the show theme didn't match the title of the event. I thought pets were the theme and the comedy would have been centered around pets and their owners and the comedy that comes from it. Felt like it was a "bait and switch" event.

Sorry you felt that way. We had 40 minutes of pet pictures leading up to the show. The improv show itself had all type of pet references and comments including a chicken, a cat, a cow, a bald eagle, things a vet would say, things said at a dog park, and a post intermission video of my encounter with a pet. I am sorry if you wanted more pet games but improv uses the theme to go in lots of directions based on audience suggestions because an entire show with us acting like pets or doing pet related things would lose its "funny" within seconds. Sincerely Paul Marks

I thought the theme was our pets? It was a disappointment that pets were barely mentioned.

Hi Angela: The theme of the improv show is pets and we'll play off audience suggestions about pets in various scenes that night. We'll also have a pre-show video of people's pets if they want to send me a .jpg for the slideshow. The due date for the picture and the name of the pet(s) is March 15th. Hope to see you there.
