Tomorrow: "Attack of the Theocrats" by Sean Faircloth, 7:00 pm, Wed. 11/30, UMBC

From: Emil V.
Sent on: Tuesday, November 29, 2011 11:31 PM
Dear Baltimore Atheists Meetup and friends
of the Baltimore Coalition of Reason,

Come along as we join the UMBC Secular Student Alliance to hear Sean
Faircloth speak about his new book "Attack of the Theocrats"!

When: Wednesday, November 30, 7:00 pm (seating starts 6:45 pm)
Where: UMBC Administration Building, room 101

    Facebook: http://www.facebo...

While much of the public debate in the United States over church-state
issues has focused on the construction of nativity scenes in town
squares and the addition of "under God" to the Pledge, Sean Faircloth,
who served ten years in the Maine legislature and is now Director of
Strategy & Policy for the U.S. Richard Dawkins Foundation, moves
beyond the symbolism to explore the many ways federal and state legal
codes privilege religion in law in his book "Attack of the Theocrats:
How the Religious Right Harms Us All and What to Do About It." Join
the UMBC Secular Student Alliance and the Baltimore Coalition of
Reason as we hear Faircloth talk about strategies to combat the
religious right, and why church/state separation is important.

Wednesday, 11/30 at 7-9 PM in the UMBC Administration Building, room 101.

See Sean Faircloth on YouTube discuss the book:

This event is located on the campus of UMBC, 1000 Hilltop Circle in
Baltimore. Sean Faircloth will be speaking in the Administration
Building, Room 101. The event is free to the public. Books will be on
sale, and a question and answer session and book signing will be
available after the talk. Book sales will be cash and check
only. Parking is available in the Administration Drive garage, which
can be located on this parking map. Parking is metered, at the rate of
$0.25/15 minutes until 9PM.
