Invitation to AID Annual Banquet

Dear Friends,

Association for India's Development is hosting it's annual banquet featuring India's leading agricultural scientist Dr. Ramanjaneyulu. Dr. Ramoo, the director of the Center for Sustainable Agriculture, is known to be a walking encyclopedia on the subject. Due to the efforts of CSA,  there are 300,000 acres of farmland practicing sustainable agriculture in the state of Andra Pradesh today.  Because of his prolific work, Dr. Ramoo was invited as the featured panelist in the popular Indian social TV series ‘Satyamev Jayate’ hosted by Amir Khan.

The critically acclaimed documentary “Cotton for My Shroud”,  featured a village named Dorli, which set itself for auction due to a severe debt caused by extensive GM cotton cultivation and losses associated with it. Because of the efforts by Dr. Ramoo, villagers have now returned to Dorli and restarted cultivation. The village is now debt free and also has a center for seed production.

You will also get to meet and greet Ravi and Aravinda, founder of AID. Ravi and Aravinda moved back to India to work full time for AID. Their work in the Narmada valley to create a low cost hydro power plant is featured in the movie “Swades”.
Such success stories align with the vision of Association for India’s Development. Please invite your friends in MD, VA, DC and DE area for a sustainable future and development to help us to achieve more.
