Not quite matching the calendar, but any time is the right time to discuss Twelfth Night. As Shakespeare's work became more complex and nuanced, one could no longer take a play termed "comedy" solely in such a way. It's doubtful the playwright himself could be free from deeper ruminations, as he wrote this play around 1601, a little after the magnificent Hamlet was written.
