Sketch-UP for the Home Gardener

Want to create a beautiful landscape but don't know where to start? Try this! We're going to walk you step by step through how to use Google SketchUP to create a 3-D rendering of your own personal space. This is a good way to track sun patterns year round as well as see how much space that chicken coop is really going to take up. It's also great for planning hugelkultur beds, raised beds, walkways, arbors, kitchen remodels and almost anything else you could think of!

This will be a hands-on follow the leader class, so bring your own laptop or a friend who has a laptop, or be prepared to take very good notes. We'll have power strips and internet available, but please download the free software before coming here;

Meet your teacher:
Michelle received her bachelor's in Landscape Architecture from Washington State University. She now works as a landscape designer with emphasis in native landscapes, edibles, Permaculture design and educating the public in sustainable design. Her company Edge + Element Design focuses on getting the most out of spaces, uses sustainable materials and making the world a better place.

    I'm really bummed. I was really looking forward to attending this workshop and bringing my niece who also has an interest in using this software for gardening and landscape design. I even downloaded the software. Unfortunately, a sudden personal matter that I must handle conflicts timewise. I hope you will offer this again sometime in the future. I will see what I can learn about this software on my own. Thanks, at least, for letting me know this software exists and that you have confidence in its use in regards to landscape/garden planning.

    Please remember to download the program before tomorrow's class and if you want, bring in a laptop with a mouse if you want to follow along. If you have any questions before then, please feel free to email me at [masked]. See you tomorrow!
