What we're about

Welcome! This meetup dedicated to all professionals involved in Cyber Security for Automated Processes and Control Systems including security for Operating Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA Systems, Transportation Systems, Building Control Systems (BCS), and even emerging Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems. Our purpose is to connect the professionals in the Greater Bangalore area with real interest in or responsibility for the cyber security of these systems.

Once we have enough critical mass of interest in Bangalore, we will gather for purposes of education, information exchange, and discovery of new opportunities and, yes, perhaps a few happy hours! If you are interested in serving on a committee to help shape this meetup experience, please contact the organizers directly.

(CS)2AI Online: Converging IT,OT, IIOT- How Differences Affect Ops and Security

Register for this seminar with professor Art Conklin now: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7347251571086400270?source=04212021MeetupEvent

Hardly a day goes by without a discussion of IT and OT convergence. Soon, IIoT will get included in those talks. This talk will examine why the convergence is inevitable and even a good idea from a resource management point of view. But convergence does not mean that all of these systems are the same, nor do they work by the same rules, have anywhere near the same risk profiles, skill sets for employees or a myriad of other differentiators. So, what does this mean to those who work on these systems? This session will examine why there are differences between IT, OT, and IIoT, and why these differences matter when it comes to operations and security. And a pathway to convergence can only be successful when the foundational differences are addressed.

Join us and Professor Art Conklin, PhD., veteran cyber security researcher, author, digital forensic examiner, faculty member at the University of Houston College of Technology and Director of the University's Center for Information Security Research and Education.

(CS)2AI Recast: Scanners, Tunnels, and Sims, Oh My! Round 2! with Justin Searle

We are very excited to have Justin Searle talking with us about Tools to Control all of the Things!

When it comes to testing and analyzing ICS communications in your lab, what is even better than getting your hands-on tools from your engineers? Easy. Having your own set of tools, available for free, customized for your current needs, and extendable for your future needs. Welcome to the Control Things Tools project! Born out of the Control Things Platform, a Kali-esque distribution for ICS professionals, Control Things Tools attempts to bring these customizable tools directly to you. a separate but similar tool for each protocol and/or technology layer, complete with a simple to use python library for you to make (or contribute) your own such tools.

Join us to learn about the public release of the first series of these Control Things Tools: cti2c, ctspi, ctserial, ctip, ctmodbus, ctvelocio, and the python library that provides the command-line and graphical interfaces for these tools.

Speaker:
Justin Searle is the Director of ICS Security at InGuardians, specializing in ICS security architecture design and penetration testing. He led the Smart Grid Security Architecture group in the creation of NIST Interagency Report 7628 and has played key roles in the Advanced Security Acceleration Project for the Smart Grid (ASAP-SG), National Electric Sector Cybersecurity Organization Resources (NESCOR), and Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP).

Justin has taught courses in hacking techniques, forensics, networking, and intrusion detection for multiple universities, corporations, and security conferences. He is currently a Senior Instructor for the SANS Institute and a faculty member at IANS.
