BRUG Jan 2017 Meetup

  • January 21 · 11:00 AM

Hi all,

Welcome to the January BRUG meetup! With RubyConf India 2017 round the corner, this is the perfect time for you to practice your talk if you're a speaker there or may be even if you plan to give a lightning talk, and if you're looking for feedback. Apart from this, other things one could talk (lightning talks are also welcome) about include -

- Anything interesting they did

- Anything new they learned

- Something old and forgotten

- Anything geeky and remotely related to the Ruby ecosystem

- Anything geeky and not related to the Ruby ecosystem, but is of interest to the attendees

Confirmed Talks -

Akshat would be talking about "TDD in Ruby on Rails" - 30 mins

Atul will be giving a lightning talk on "Lets enhance ActionCable" - Around 5 mins

• Swanand would be talking about "It's 2017, and I still want to sell you a graph database!."  - 30 to 45 mins

• Swanand would be speaking about the same topic at RubyConf India 2017 so even if you are not able to make it for the conference, this is your chance to hear about his experience on this topic.

Feel free to drop a comment below with what you'd like to talk about and approximately how long would your talk be and we'll accordingly schedule your talk at the meetup and update your talk details here.

    Did anyone take any photos?

I've uploaded the ones I took. A couple of people from GoJek also took photos. Can folks from GoJEK also upload the photos ? Rajeev is a co-organizer of this group, he can upload them if uploading requires permissions.

unfortunately I could not make this meetup today. Anyone have thoughts a good place to post if I am looking for ruby dev as new partner? (I run and based in Bangalore). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Bruce, you'll find many Rubyists based out of India on a slack group called Ruby Rockers. You can get a self invite to the same via http://ruby-rockers.h.... We have a jobs channel there where you can make a post.

Also many startups post job openings on. Hope this helps.

Hi all, we have another talk by Atul who'd be speaking about "Lets enhance ActionCable". Hi Akshat, just want to give you a heads up, we'd want to start off with your talk first, this will be followed by Atul's and then Swanand's. I've updated the details above to reflect that order. Feel free to reach out to me on [masked] if you have anything to discuss regarding this.
