Spread Some Love

They say love is in the air, especially in February. With both Valentine's Day and Vasant Panchami falling in this month, that may just be true! And we’d like to add to the flavor by telling stories of romance at this month’s Meetup. Tell and listen to tales of undying love and passion that will pull at your heartstrings or share a story of unrequited love that will make you go soft. This is a February special you don’t want to miss!

As always, we’ll have 4 tellers. Stories will have to be based on the theme of romance. Folk-tales, legends, myths, personal stories are all okay. 10 minutes per teller. Please email your storyline to [masked] by 16th Feb. First-come, first-served.

Sending the colors of love your way,
The BSS Team ☺

P.S.:

For those of you who are coming to Atta Galatta for the first time, here are the directions from Sony Signal (for those coming via Intermediate Ring Road) in Koramangala:

With Sony World and Ezone on your left, keep going on Koramangala 100 ft Road till you reach ING Vysya ATM (it will be on your left). Turn right onto Jyothi Nivas College Road; there’s also a Sukh Sagar Restaurant at the corner. Proceed on the same road, passing by Mainland China, William Penn and a string of shops and eateries on your right. After you cross Coffee Day (also on your right), turn right on to 17th A Main. Atta Galatta is the second building on the right. Our meeting place is on the 1st floor. Parking is on the side lanes.

Easier option is to feed 'Atta Galatta' on Google Maps and let it bring you there. It's accurate! :)

If you're getting really desperate and need to call someone for directions, do reach Atta Galatta on[masked] or 96325 10126. ;)

See you soon!

Thanks everyone for making this such a beautiful meet up. Our largest turn out so far! We're stoked. So, in order of appearance, I'd like to say to all the presenters today:

Neeta: You did what you always do so well--that's pick up some wonderful stuff to read out and share. Thanks for bringing in poetry in to our lives today. Falak: Nice, tight presentation on Punjab. The little story you read out at the beginning was great! I think all of us should lose our way sometimes listening to stories! ;)

Chitra: What a riveting story! Enjoyed the way you read and told it. Creepy and funny all at once. Keep it coming!

Sowmya: Fantastic stiff collar! You unearthed another gem today! Lovely performance, as always.

There's so much more waiting to happen at BSS and we're so happy to see this community growing. Do stay tuned to our updates here and on the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/319287854872003/

March is going to be an exciting month. Stand by!

    Cheers. :)

Our very own Sowmya Srinivasan gets a mention in Huffington Post following her storytelling at the recent Chennai Storytelling Festival. She narrated the Kite Flyer Of Beijing, written by John McCormick. More power to her! Read the article here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-mccormick/parenting-with-grace_b_4805934.html

The author John McCormick has also blogged about it here: http://dadtellmeastory.com/blog-buzz/why-we-tell-stories/
