"Warm Bodies", The world's first zombie romantic comedy

A funny new twist on a classic love story, "Warm Bodies" is a poignant tale about the power of human connection. After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human - setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.

Note:  In an email I sent to members on January 11, I said that we were going to see "Lincoln" on a tentative date of February 9.  That was the published release date for Thailand.  It turns out that "Lincoln" will not be released then.  The Thailand release date is now unknown.

"I kinda love this movie. Warm Bodies is a well-paced, nicely directed, post-apocalyptic love story with a terrific sense of humor and the, um, guts to be unabashedly romantic and unapologetically optimistic.... Warm Bodies is terrific entertainment".

Locations and Schedule

7:15 pm - 8:15 pm - Coffee, snacks, and conversation at True Life / True Coffee (old branch) corner of Siam Square Soi 3 (one block off Rama 1 Road), not to be confused with the two newer True Coffee branches in Siam Square.  (Yes, there are THREE True Coffee branches in Siam Square.) Please read the detailed directions below so you don't end up at the wrong True Coffee branch.

8:15 pm - Walk to the theater. We will buy the tickets together so the group can sit together.  Tickets are only 100 baht per person (every-day price there).

8:30 pm - The movie, "Warm Bodies" at the Apex Lido Cinema, Siam Square.

After the movie - a 10-minute discussion of the movie.  Why did we like or not like the movie?

After the discussion - If you want to suggest a restaurant for some of us to go next, please don't be shy.

You can attend the coffee hour and/or the movie.  You don't have to be at both.

(1) Leave the BTS Skytrain Siam (Central) Station at Exit 2. (If you're not arriving by Skytrain and you're walking under the Skytrain station towards MBK, pass by True Coffee and the Apple Shop in the building called "Digital Gateway.")

(2) When you reach the bottom of the stairs, do a "U-turn" to head in the opposite direction past True Coffee and the Apple Shop in the building called "Digital Gateway."

(3) When you reach the cross street, you are at Siam Square Soi 3.

(4) Turn left and walk one block. On the corner, you will see True Life / True Coffee.  It's across the street from Kasikorn Bank (K-Bank). We will be on the ground floor.

Grab coffee and a snack and join us for 60 minutes of conversation before we go to the movie!

Agree completely so am surprised you scheduled this movie. Read the good reviews but still think it would be difficult to take seriously. What did you think? Jeffrey

Hi Rislan! We will be seeing this movie at Scala Cinema (Siam Square), Lido Cinema (Siam Square) or at Siam Paragon. We will confirm the location and exact time by an email sent to members by 10:00 AM the morning of the showing. Detailed directions will be included. New members, please be aware that the movie will be preceded by a 1-hour coffee/snack time tentatively starting at 6:45PM. Why 10:00 AM the morning of the showing? That's the deadline for Paragon Cineplex to publish its showing times on its website. They often change the schedules day-to-day.
