  • The UN-sponsored Global Migration Film Festival will be held December 14-18 in Bangkok to celebrate International Migrants Day. The festival is an opportunity for the world to celebrate diversity and migrants’ unique contributions to the communities and countries where they live. It is a tribute to the many films that capture the beauty and challenges of migration, bringing these realities to audiences around the world. The Film Festival is part of the United Nations’ "Together" global campaign to promote diversity and inclusion.

The event will be the first of its kind with the same festival taking place in many other countries across the world in various formats. In Thailand, IOM will be screening six films over a period of five days at the Bangkok Screening Room, an independent cinema that can accommodate up to 52 people per show. In an effort to raise awareness on migration issues amongst everyone, admission will be free.

The schedule for the 6 films showing over 5 days (and links to reserve tickets AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE) is here:

Several of us are going to see "Bolinao 52" on Saturday, December 17. I suggest we meet at 3:15 PM (one hour before the movie) at the Bangkok Screening Room's small bar and restaurant for a Social Hour.
