Spring 2013 Conference

(Free with PRE-Registration)

It’s almost here! The BarCamp Sarasota-Bradenton - Spring 2013 “Unconference,” where YOU are the expert. BarCamp Sarasota-Bradenton will be held at 8am -5pm on Saturday, May 4th at the brand-new Manatee Technical Institute in Bradenton, FL. This is one day in a 4-day destination event brought to you by Spark Growth.

(Read the article in the Herald-Tribune!)

During the weekend, we will also be enjoying multiple venues over four days at the incredible new Riverwalk complex and historic downtown in Bradenton, FL. Spark Growth will have activities at the Manatee Players Theater, the Riverwalk, downtown Bradenton, and more!

BarCamp is an open-format conference where everyone is welcome to speak on any topic they are passionate about. Note that sessions aren’t scheduled in advance; the agenda is created the day of the event in the spirit of an “unconference.”  See the BarCamp Sarasota-Bradenton Website for the schedule of events.

Speak, sponsor or just attend!

More than 600 business and tech enthusiasts participated in 2012 BarCamp Sarasota-Bradenton conference events where many local authorities spoke on business and tech topics ranging from Video Marketing to LinkedIn to Search Engine Optimization Rock Stars to How to Write Online Press Releases.

The topics for the conference depend on you. Show up on May 4 and sign up to speak and participate at the unconference. Get involved with other events during the weekend activities May 2-5. Everyone is invited.

The heat / lack of A/C was a technical oversight that will not affect the next BarCamp we have there. If you loved the talks, but not the heat. Please bring 5 friends next time cause the building will be cool as a cucumber. Thanks to all who attended and made this a great event!

We would like to thank everyone who made this premiere destination event - Riverwalk 2013 - possible. Everyone from the sponsors, planners, volunteers, panelists, speakers, attendants... and probably more! If you attended, please tell your friends, contacts, acquaintances... well everyone! about the experience you had and to attend Riverwalk 2014.

Still pretty overwhelmed and still processing a great deal of the outstanding content of the conference. BarCamp really is (are?) the Ted Talks of Sarasota-Bradenton. There are some scary smart people who came out to speak on Saturday. We can't thank them all enough. And our volunteers, well, you were just wonderful and kind and generous to take your time to come out and help us.

Overall, the people were fantastic, every presenter I saw was educational and/or insightful, and the atmosphere was very creative and conducive. There were a few very elementary issues that slightly hindered the conference: 1. the topics/schedule board was difficult to read; 2. There was not enough time for questions/discussion after most sessions; 3. There was no time provided between session beginnings and ends to get to another session location. All of those things really highlight what made the conference such a good event: so much to learn, so many great presenters, and those that attended were engaged by and invested in the conference as a whole. Well done.

Wow, what an education! My head is so full of new knowledge I feel like it will explode. Many, many thanks to all the presenters who took the time to impart their wisdom today. A very special thank you to Sara, Stan, Evie, Nathan and all the other amazing volunteers for putting this event and yesterday's Economic Summit together. Well done!
