What’s the state of desktop virtualization on GNU/Linux?
In our next meetup Josep Maria Viñolas ( [masked] ) and Alberto Larraz ( [masked] ) will show a custom infrastructure implementation of a desktop virtualization system based on KVM linux and IsardVDI.
We will talk about desktop virtualization key concepts involved on this kind of implementations, from ground (hypervisors, storage, networking) to high level orchestration and optimization of the multiple layers involved, all using self-built servers and orchestration software optimized at all layers.
There is a growing demand of desktop virtualization implementations and only a few done with open source software. This meeting aims to expose the state of the art of virtualization in GNU/Linux and how it can be easily and quickly deployed on any scenario.
Josep Maria Viñolas and Alberto Larraz are both computer and networking engineers and work as a computer teachers and system administrators at l'Escola del Treball. They created IsardVDI and implemented a huge open source virtualization infrastructure at l'Escola del Treball.
