Thanks Karen,

Sheba is all of 8 weeks old.

I'd forgotten what its like to have a real puppy again.

Aside from wet spots and poops all over and a mostly silent shadow everywhere, there are laughs e.g. when she spotted her reflection in the sliding glass door and ran back and forth barking.

Or when I woke in the middle of the night and thought she had managed to disappear despite carefully closed and screened doors. After a panicky search I finally noticed the small lump way down under the bedspread.

Buddy never ever slept under the covers (I used to heat the entire house if I worried he was cold) but Sheba dove right down there. Maybe because of the fan. What a relief!

Reminded me of the one and only line I remember from Byron:

Pity it was and surely a wonder/ he (the cuckold) failed to look IN the bed as well as under.

Sheba makes sure that I only relive a certain scene once an hour or even less......

I'm so glad you have a new puppy to help you thru this horrible time.  Yes it's important for things to be happy and fun for your new little one.  What a lucky puppy to have you for a dad.
