Anyone can learn to meditate! With the guidance of Certified Mindfulness Instructor Joanne Lougheed, Spec. Hons. B.A., B. of Ed., you will learn several meditation and mindfulness techniques you can practice right away. PLUS receive a complimentary guided meditation download so you can practice anytime! Research shows that meditation helps keep blood pressure in control, reduce pain, and release stress. It improves the quality of sleep and improves mental health by helping to ease anxiety, stress and depression. Plus it boosts positivity, enthusiasm and overall state of the mind, and leads us to having more gratitude and spontaneity in life. We'll try traditional guided mindfulness meditation, walking meditation, sound meditation, and more. + Tuition is $17 (+hst) for those not subscribed to a Monthly Membership Package. What we're about

The Barrie Yoga Community is a place where yoga students, teachers, and enthusiasts meet and share. Our goal is to offer resources and support to make yoga accessible to everyone in the community, and give members an opportunity to experience classes, workshops and events that empower the individual through their own yoga journey. Each person is on a distinct path, yet yoga brings us together and we are able to grow and learn from each other as we share our experiences. We welcome everyone from beginner to experienced practitioner to become part of our network and participate in the community. All that's required is openness and curiosity- only your mind needs to be flexible to experience yoga! Namaste
