Explore Presidio/Baker Beach/Crissy Fields/Fort Mason/Aquatic Beach & Thai Food!

Join us for a fun urban hike this Saturday. Together, we will explore different walking paths, steps & hidden gems this beautiful city has to offer & experience it in a fun way. We will view some of the most beautiful points of the San Francisco Bay. It's a great way to enjoy the city & see some of the city's best views. Points of interest are: The Presidio, Lucas Arts Campus, Lyon Street Steps, Lover's Lane, Immigrant Point Overlook, Bakers Beach, Crissy Fields, the Wave Organ, Fort Mason & a "secret path" to Aquatic Park Beach. Have a great time socializing while meeting new friends & enjoy lots of fun & laughter. Members in the group are always nice & friendly. We always have a lot of fun whenever we all get together with a couple of other meetup groups also invited. So join in on the fun! We look forward to seeing you there!

We will meet for coffee at Starbucks for a meet & greet. Please arrive no later than 12:30 pm for announcements & brief intros. At 12:45 pm, we will start walking to the Presidio & stop at the Lucas Arts campus stunning pond for a short 30 min lunch (another Starbucks is on campus). From there, we will head up the Lyon Street stairs famous with many joggers & runners. After, we will retreat to the beauty & tranquility of the Presidio & walk through Lover's Lane with a forest of pine, cypress, eucalyptus, and redwood trees aligned path. Thereafter, we stop off at one of the most breathtaking vistas in the SF Bay hidden in the middle of the Presidio undiscovered by many San Franciscans & one of the most gorgeous views you will see. From here, we descend some fun, long, windy stairs all the way down to Baker's Beach & stroll though the beach & explore a hidden military installation which use to be an armory now a tiny historical museum. After, we head back to the Presidio up the windy steps towards Crissy Fields Beach for more amazing & picturesque views of the SF Bay up close near the Golden Gate Bridge. Finally, we will take some mysterious hidden steps to a "secret" spot by Fort Mason as we end our walk at the beautiful & tranquil Aquatic Park Beach. Around 6 pm, we will stop for dinner & get some yummy Thai food. It's going to be quite a distance, a lot of steps & a few hills, so you will get a good workout for the entire week!

BEFORE MEETING UP: Be sure to grab your lunches, drinks & snacks for our exploration. Be sure to have a healthy snack handy & a bottle of water in case of dehydration & blood sugar drops due to exercising several hours. Conveniently, there are plenty of stores, shops & delis in the area.

• AFTER URBAN HIKE: Dinner, dessert &/or group singing karaoke!

• PLEASE NO LATE GUESTS arrivals after the hike. Thank you!

• RETURN: Most members will be taking the #30 Stockton or the F Streetcar line back to downtown & Bart (10 min).

• DIFFICULTY: Easy to Moderate (see difficulty legend below) -- 3-1/2 hours (which makes it 5 hours total probably for a big group with breaks in between). The group is somewhat slow as hiking groups go, but be prepared for a couple of long uphill stairs & hills. We will take some rest stops for bathroom breaks & photos. For specifics: please google map -- Directions from Lucas Arts, Lover's Lane, Immigrant Point Overlook, Baker Beach, Crissy Field, the Wave Organ, Fort Mason to Aquatic Park/Jefferson St. (Difficulty Rating Legend: http://www.hikenewengland.com/LegendRating.html)

Welcome Members! This will be a fun meetup exploring some of the most beautiful parts of the city. These are some of my favorite places to walk/hike to see the beautiful vistas of the SF Bay & what our own backyard has to offer. So far we have about 15 members who have RSVPd from various meetup groups invited. Looking forward to a fun day socializing & meeting new friends!
