When: Saturday, November 20,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Bear Valley Visitor Center

Point Reyes Station, CA 94956
(415)[masked]

Hi Nature-friendly Music Lovers,

*UPDATE as of 11/8: This event is intended for everyone. So, no one will be singled out for any reason. We'll split into two groups depending on length of hike you decide to do: half-way(4.1 mi. round trip) and full hike(8.2 mi.) I will designate a hike leader for each group later.

For shorter hike, folks can go back to BV visitor center, and have a picnic there while waiting for full hikers to return. Bring a portable stereo with you, and listen to classical music during picnic. Well, worst comes you can do music sharing if you bring your MP player, i-tune and etc. Photographing nature in and around the visitor center is another suggestion. Bring your camera with you as well. So, on your rsvp, indicate 1/2 hike ONLY if you are going for shorter hike.

If it rains, i will come up with a backup plan. But won't worry about it until close to our event date.

Let's get outdoor & do something before El Nino hits! i am thinking Pt. Reyes for a leisurely hike & picnic. No worry it's gotta coupled with Classical music theme. Otherwise it will just be a hike meetup right? So, here's what & how:

1)Find yourself a driving buddy or two, and load your CD changer with classical music. You folks decide what to listen while driving to/from hiking location, but gotta be classical music though. It will be a good 1.5 to 2-hr long listening session for round trip! Please stay civil deciding what & in which order to listen each other's fav's. I WILL MAKE SURE TO CHECK EACH CAR THAT NO ONE LISTENS TO NON-CLASSICAL MUSIC... Yup, STRICTLY PROHIBITED for our purpose!:)

2)Meet @ Bear Valley visitor center by 10. Free parking.

3)Will do a quick group photo op. Then depart by 10:15-ish. Yup, trailhead is right there!

4)We'll hike out to Arch Rock facing Pacific Ocean. No significant elevation gain whatsoever. It's really a low-key leisurely hike intended for everyone. And beautiful on the way too!:) Bring your own camera.

5)Quick lunch/picnic (< 30 min.) around noon up @ the Arch Rock. Sit on rock basically. Bring things to sit down on if u like. Bring a plastic bag for trash please!

6)Head back to BV visitor center. At the latest, we'll resume @ the visitor center by 3.

7)Then drive together for post-meetup location @ Pt. Reyes' Station Cafe (pretty decent place for group gathering; pizza, salad, beer & wine...)

8)As part of our post-mtup, i am planning a trivia contest. Of course subject matter: Classical music!:) No worry we'll figure out how to proceed. Yup, there will be a prize!

*Hike stats(according to my hike mtup!)
- Total distance(roundtrip): <9 mi.
- Approx. 4 hrs
- Elevation change: 400 ft?

**What to expect
- Wear in layers; good idea to wear windbreaker(so, seal yourself well!)
- Bring plenty of water; light lunch/snack
- One bathroom potty on the way
- Hiking boots; hat or tie your hair since windy

Have i missed any? i will further give an update as we go. Let me know if you got any question. Start looking for carpool buddies early on if you plan on coming. i suggest posting carpool info via comment section below this meetup posting. Better yet, please indicate which area you live in on your RSVP. Also, if you need CD's or recommendation for music selection, let me know. i've got tons plus i know quite a few folks like me. Well, hope to see many of you coming out & enjoy integrating your mind & body with nature & classical music!:)
