Sail to Angel Island for a BBQ, hike, disc and fun!

If you can get off work for the day how about a sail over to Angel Island for a BBQ and a hike or whatever else you want?! These sails have been absolutely wonderful. We have the island to ourselves and it is just magical!

We'll leave at 1pm and get to Angel Island for a sunny afternoon BBQ. Our sail back should include watching the sun go down and a return to the dock around 8.

This is how it looks when we arrive - just waiting for us to have our private island fun!

The 'Head':

The head or bathroom aboard Feral is called 'The Bucket'. There are clean bathrooms in the marina. It's not a super long sail so you can probably hold it. But I've noticed that as soon as one person uses The Bucket lots of people get comfortable with it. (Guys use the big bucket over the side...)

There are also bathrooms at Angel Island.

If you are new to sailing check out the photos!!:         www.captdan.net

Donation:

$50 and food to bbbq and wine / drinks to share. Bring burgers or whatever you want to share with the group. The $50 donation is on a sliding scale for folks who would happily give the full donation but for whatever reason can't do that right now. Please e-mail me if the donation is an issue. Sailing is a basic human right!

Who is going? This sail is also posted in another Meetup group for sailors. They are a fun bunch who aren't agro about sailing - they just want to have fun in nature.  And sailing is a great way to do that - all natural organic wind power!

Because of the cross posting I will be changing the numbers around for how many can go.  Keep your eyes on it and as soon as you know if you can (and want!) to go save your spot!

Dress:

For sure wear clothes. Warm clothes. Even on the warmest days it is still chilly out on the water. Bring layers and something water and wind proof if you have it. Ski clothes are an excellent option. There is plenty of room down below to stow extra gear. It has been warm enough to shed down to shorts and t-shirts so bring those too!

Bring non-marking shoes!!

I'll bring charcoal and things for the bbq - you just bring yourselves and some grub to bbq and some to share (and all those warm clothes I keep telling you about!)

Where to find us EXACTLY!! This link will show a little pin right at the foot of the dock. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=121+Spinnaker+Way%0D%0A%0D%0ABerkeley,+Ca+94710&sourceid=ie8-activity

If you have a particular date you would like me to schedule just let me know!

I'm taking the bus there and my bike. I've done this before but went to the Berkeley Yacht Club.
