Announcing a new Meetup for Bay Area Everything Outdoors Club for 20,30,40 year olds!

What: Mt Lassen Labor Day Weekend Camping

When: Friday, September 3,[masked]:00 PM

Price: $15.00 per person

Where: Lassen Volcanic National Park
Lassen Peak Hwy
Mineral, CA 96063

We have reserved the Lost Creek Campsite at Mt. Lassen which includes: picnic tables, campfire, bear-proof box, vault toilets and drinking water. There are restrooms, pay phones and showers, laundromat, restaurant, store, and gas station available at the Manzanita Lake Campground near the northwest entrance, about 10 minutes drive from our campsite. Our campsite allows 6 cars so we encourage carpooling. $10/car at the park entrance.

Here is the general plan, which people can choose to do all, some or none of the activities. We encourage folks to participate and have fun:

Fri, Sept 3 Meet at the Lost Creek Campground. Arrival time is flexible: 1-11pm.

Sat, Sept 4 Drive to Butte Lake and hike Cinder Cone and Painted Dunes (5-6 mi.) with a chance to swim in Bathtub Lakes. Back to camp for a potluck dinner.

Sun, Sept 5 Moderate 11 mile loop hike passing 7 Alpine Lakes, including Echo, Twin and Cluster Lakes. Opportunities to swim and fish.

Mon, Sept 6 Hike Lassen Peak (10,500ft, 5mi.), a strenuous hike with a 360 degree view of the Lassen Area and beyond. After the hike, we will stop at Bumpass Hell and visit the boiling mud springs. Drive back home.

Other activities in the park: fishing, swimming, kayaking, biking, reading, lounging, tree and star gazing, chilling, etc. People are responsible for their own food.

If you are interested, please email me with your full name and cell phone. I will send you my PO Box Address to mail your $15 check. Please note in the Comments Section whether you'll drive (number of passengers) or need a ride, where you live, what camping gear you can offer, if you'd like to share meals, etc. The temps dip into the 40's at night.
