HIKE DETAILS: Start time: 12 Noon. 


Distance: 8 Miles. 1200ft.


Difficulty: Moderately Strenuous due to 3 m.p.h pace, distance/elevation.


Hike Time: 3-4 hrs. Approximately.


Parking: Free. Large parking lot available.


Dogs: Pets are not allowed at this park.


Guests: Yes.


WHAT TO BRING: Sturdy hiking shoes, layered clothing, Hat, Wind Protection, Sunglasses, LUNCH, water, energy drink.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Fit hikers who want a brisk hike meeting new folks and getting some good exercise!


HIGHLIGHTS: This loop, combining George Wagnon Trail and Old Moraga Ranch Trail with part of the Rocky Ridge Trail explores two narrow canyons at the northern end of EBMUD’s UPPER SAN LEANDRO RESERVOIR. Birders will enjoy the variety of habitats visible from these trails, from open water to secluded forest, and those out for exercise will profit from many ups and downs.

DIRECTIONS: From Highway 24 in Orinda, take the Orinda/Moraga exit and go Right (southwest) on Camino Pablo—which soon becomes Moraga Way—4.6 miles to Canyon Rd. Turn Right, and go 1.1 miles to EBMUD’s Valle Vista parking area on the left.
