DIGFM December - Trippin' on ACID

  • This is the December 2016 DIGFM Meeting, hosted by FileMaker Inc., an Apple Subsidiary, at their HQ (The Wedge) in Santa Clara.

    PRESENTATION: Trippin' on ACID

Chris Irvine of Threeprong will be taking us on an ACID trip. ACID in this case, stands for "Atomicity Consistency Isolation Durability" and is a database benchmark to test whether transactions will process reliably.

Chris will show these four database concepts from computer science, and how well FileMaker does or does not perform in these areas. There have been several great FileMaker DevCon presentations about transactions, but transactions are just one component of the larger ACID picture.

Chris will also show several live demos and share many techniques you will be able to take away and implement in your own solutions.

Chris will do his best to break down these topics into simple terms, but cautions that this is an advanced topic. There is no prerequisite experience, this will be useful information for both new and seasoned developers. Bring your thinking caps and ask lots of questions! And he promises, there will not be a test.

    SPEAKER: Chris Irvine

Chris Irvine is a Senior Technology Consultant and founder at LLC, specializing in performance tuning, B2B integration, and custom workgroup solutions. He is a Computer Science graduate of Portland State University. His professional experience includes management roles in multiple industries, numerous development and database environments, and over 10 years of experience with FileMaker Pro.

Enjoy social time from 6:30pm - 7:00pm, with the presentation starting at 7:00pm.
