Short Films and Business Holiday Party with Networking, Music, and Dancing – Thursday, Dec. 5th8-10 pm. Here’s a reminder about our exciting upcoming holiday party for members of the film and business communities.  We’ll be at the Supper Club at 657 Harrison Street, between 2nd and 3rd, in San Francisco.  The event, sponsored by Changemakers Productions and the CrowdFund Film Society, features networking in the bar area, plus music, dancing, and films projected on the large overhead screen in their large central room. We’ll be meeting and greeting everyone from 8-9 p.m. with nametags so you can find others in our group. Invites have gone out to about a dozen Meetup and other groups, so we’re expecting a large turnout of about 50 to 100 people. The event is free as a Kick-Off Introduction to the CrowdFund Film Society’s Festival, though plan to order 1 minimum drink at the bar. We’ll also have a raffle with $50-100 in prizes for those who sign-up through Eventbrite and are on the guest list. RSVP to Eventbrite. Crowdfunding Program with the CrowdFund Film Society – Tuesday, Dec. 10, 6:30-9:30 p.m.Here’s a chance to both learn about crowdfunding your film and pitch your film to a panel of judges who will be passing those selected to our team of investors.  Come for networking with refreshments from 6:30-7 p.m.; the speakers from 7-8 p.m.; the pitching session from 8-9 p.m. for the first 5 filmmakers to do 10 minute pitches each (with DVD or an online trailer link you must send in advance); and more networking from 9-9:30 p.m.  The cost is only $10 if you get your ticket by December 5, $15 if you get your ticket online after that, and $20 at the door.  The three featured speakers include:

Steve Cinelli, on the forefront of ‘crowdcapitalism,” which involves using technology to facilitate broad-based capital formation.  Most recently he founded and serves as CEO of PRIMARQ, a private market system dedicated to obtaining equity funds and risk capital;

Sydney Armani, a long time Silicon Valley entrepreneur with more than 20 years experience as an entrepreneur and investor.  He is the publisher of CrowdfundBeat.com, an online daily crowdfunding newsite in the U.S. and UK and the organizer of the annual Silicon Valley Meets Crowdfunders conference in Palo Alto;

Gini Graham Scott, an indie producer and writer of over 60 short films and the author of three books on filmmaking, including the most recent: FINDING FUNDS FOR YOUR FILM OR TV PROJECT, published by Hal Leonard which includes a chapter on crowdfunding. She also is the writer and one of the producers of SUICIDE PARTY, a film with a crowdfunding site at www.indiegogo.com/projects/suicide-party, with a director and two lead actors with over 30 feature films between them. Next Film Exchange in San Francisco – Tuesday, December 19. Our next Film Exchange will be the 19th, since the Crowdfunding Program is on the 10th. As always, the exchange is designed for attendees to get and give feedback on whatever you are working on – a script, new idea, DVD of your latest projects, or ask questions about the film industry. Or just come to see what others are doing and give feedback.  No charge since this is a group for sharing ideas.  Limited to 20 attendees. RSVP online.  The location is near 46th and Fulton, with the exact address given to those who RSVP on Monday, the 18th.
