Now the Del Monte Lodge is locally known by several names: Naval Postgraduate School, Hermann Hall, Hotel Del Monte. The hotel was visited by 4 presidents and many worldwide celebrities. This world-famous hotel became a Navy flight training school after the Pearl Harbor attack. This grand structure has been closed to the public since the 911 attack, and only recently opened for month-end Sunday brunches—held the last Sunday of certain months from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. It’s open again for brunch January 28th! Let’s go!!! The BAGH’s first time here was October 29, 2017. The food was delicious. During our walk of the grounds, most of the hotel workers we met had paranormal experiences in the hotel! One maid swung her arm down the hall and said, “The children always run down the hall that way—and will call you by name. They have called mine!” Once you pass the gate, you are allowed to tour the hotel and grounds. On this next excursion, I want to explore the wing we did not see yet, where my friend Nancy and her friend BOTH saw a ghost at the same time after they attended the September public brunch. There are so many sightings here, I would call this a persistently haunted site! ATTN BAGH: It is EXTREMELY RARE to be able to enter this facility AND there are many ghost stories about this fabled facility. Co-organizer Deb will share some tales at 1:00. • Del Monte Lodge historical overview (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rHzhp6bVzms)(2 min.) • The hauntings--http://www.hauntedplaces.org/item/hotel-del-monte-herrmann-hall/ _________________ The first two structures (both devoured by fire) were Victorian architecture. The current structure is Spanish Revival. This very haunted location is now a US military facility. If you follow all the instructions, you will have a terrifyingly good time! And you’ll get to eat yummy food. You can be seated in the Barbara McNitt Ballroom from 10:00 to 12:30, but if you want to eat as a group, request 11:00. We will then meet at the ballroom entrance at 1:00 for stories and adventures. Prices are $30 for 11 and up, $15 for 5-10 and no charge for 4 and under. Fees are less for Military/DOD civilians & guests. Tip is not included. You pay on arrival. SIGN UP DETAILS IMPORTANT! 1 - Contact Dulcinea Skorpuski at 831.656.7512 to make your reservation. Meet fellow paranormal researchers near you! Bay Area Ghost Hunters (BAGH) is primarily a networking group for the free flow of paranormal information both in person and on the internet. Skepticism is appreciated, but close-mindedness is not. We meet at least once a month at haunted historic locations, somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area.
