I had mentioned that Meetup.com just announced its birthday contest promotion at the BASFA meeting last night. They are offering a free trip to any meetup in the world to members who rsvp and attend a meetup between now and July 15. For more details on that, you can go to:

However, it doesn't matter which group you meet up with, you just need to be a member of Meetup.com. SF in SF took over the group Indie SciFi when its original organizer bailed out. For those interested in keeping with that one, please go to:
