Let's go camping at Pantoll Campground. Friday night - Sunday morning 8/1 - 8/3.
This is a great campground if this will be your first camping trip with your kid(s). Its remote enough to have a good camping experience, but close enough to civilization to bail out if you need to go home. There are many kid-friendly hikes that we can take during the day from the campground.
Here are some links about the campground and hikes.
I posted a camping trip for Butano State Park, but it looks like weekend reservation are all filled up for the summer. Pantoll may be a better choice for our first camping trip together and we can always postpone Butano since we don't have dates already set.
Each family will need to bring a tent, sleeping bags, sleeping mats/air mattresses, warm clothing, lanterns/headlamps, toiletries and any other necessities. If you need gear, or have some gear to share, please post in the comments.
We have most of the essentials for a camp kitchen set up, so will bring all that good stuff along. We have a stove, pots and pans, eating utensils, and cooking utensils. You are welcome to bring any of your own cooking gear.
Let's discuss meal planning in the comments. We have 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners and snacks to plan out.
LOGISTICS and CAMP FEES
This campground is first-come-first serve, so I will collect campsite fees through Meetup in advance. Each site is $25/night with a maximum of 8 people and 2 tents. So, we will figure two families per site for the weekend will come out to $25/family. Parking is $8/car which you will pay the ranger when you arrive. I will be arriving Friday evening at the campground to claim our sites. I will text/call those who have RSVP'ed with the site numbers. You can arrive any time on Friday.
