Saturday Hike at Point Reyes!

  • Bear Valley Visitors Center - Point Reyes National Seashore

  • Meet at the Bear Valley Trailhead
  • Point Reyes National Seashore -- almost a magical place. 

    In the late autumn and early winter, there  are opportunities to see Coho salmon swimming up area streams to spawn, elephant seals are hauled out on beaches near Chimney Rock, and gray whales begin migrating past the point. We will take an eight mile moderate hike... with a break for lunch. 

    Trails will vary... starting point is the Bear Valley Trail Head near the Visitors Center.   Arrive early and check out the Visitors Center.

    Skill Level:  Intermediate

    Duration:  3-5 Hours

    Distance: 7-9 Miles

    Trails:  Single Track, paved and unpaved.  Mostly shady. 

    Elevation:[masked] Foot Elevation Change

    Dogs:  Not allowed, sorry.

    Bring:  Lunch, and a Big Smile.  One that will last for at least five hours!



    National Park Service:

    Directions: Head northwest on US-101 N Take exit 450B toward San Anselmo.  After 0.4 miles, Merge onto Sir Francis Drake Blvd.  Follow for 20.4 mi, Turn right onto CA-1 N.  0.1 miles… then Turn left onto Bear Valley Rd for about Half Mile.
