Our three hour workshops will cover all the essentials you need to know to get you started, plan your dream adventure, and then step out the door! We’ll target information on tools for saving money on big-ticket travel expenses like airfares and lodging; varieties of luggage and their pros and cons; specialty gear for purpose-driven trips (such a photography/film and scuba diving); travel documentation and safe-keeping techniques; travel guides (which ones? and why?); phones/skype/email from remote locations; money safety and local currencies; how to safely eat and drink in new locations; packing essential light-weight clothing and gear for all-season travel; planning for a lengthy trip/home preparations;networking while on the road; and philosophy of travel: planning it all vs. letting it happen. There will be plenty of time for questions, and we’ll provide a handout with all the essentials, so note-taking won’t be necessary. We’ll divide the workshop into three broad areas: pre-trip planning, getting out the door and on the road and beyond. 1. Luggage 2. Clothes 3. Travel plans – logistics, airfares, 4.
