Zikr (Sufi Practice): Watering the Seed of Remembrance

  • to
  • This location is shown only to members

  • Zikr (zikar, dhikr, thikr) takes many forms among Sufis around the world, spoken and silent, sung and with movement, drums and music. Whatever the form, zikr is basically remembrance of the One, of an original unity that we sense deep inside. Some bring their longing to return to that unity, others affirm that the unity is always here.

We open the door at 7:00 pm for a cup of tea. Zikr starts at 7:30 pm with a short meditation, reading or prayer, then we generally move into a musical zikr. Attendees are invited to keep the silence at the end of the zikr.

Zikr evenings run about two hours  … suggested donation $10.00, all donations go to the homeless

All are welcome, please call or email if you haven't attended before.
