What types of books do you like to read?

I like most genres except for "romance" novels (the kind with Fabio on them) and I am not huge on fantasy. Not a big Harry Potter fan. I love well-written fiction, historical fiction, biographies, humor, mysteries and adventure. I recently read an old classic "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and really enjoyed it. Some of my favorite books are the Swedish detective novels that are all the rage and Alexander McCall Smith's series about the Ladies Detective Agency and Sue Grafton's Kinsey Milhone series. Two of my favorite books are "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn" and "To Kill A Mockingbird." Love Tolstoy too so pretty eclectic tastes and I love the idea of expanding my repertoire.

What kinds of events interest you socially? Are you a movie buff or someone who loves to brunch, for example?

Hi, I love to read and since I moved to Bay Ridge last July (2010), I would love to meet others as well. I read In Cold Blood a few years ago and thought it was powerful.
