Oaklavía is a bike-skate-pedestrian event where three miles of streets circumnavigating Lake Merritt will be closed to car traffic for Love Our Lake Day.

The route is accessible by BART (Lake Merritt, 12th Street/City Center, 19th Street stations) and several AC Transit bus lines*. More info on getting to the event, route and activities at Oaklavia.org (http://oaklavia.org).

Let's meet at Haddon Hill Cafe which is accessible from the Lakeshore side of the lake at 10:40 AM. After gourmet coffee and locally-made breakfast pastries, we'll roll out at 11:00 AM.

This is a social ride! We'll do a couple leisurely laps around the lake and enjoy the car-free liberty, then people will have a chance to go off on their own, or stick together and join us for lunch and check out the many music and activities happening around the lake on this special day.

Let's get to know how beautiful Lake Merritt is now that all the construction is complete!

*If you're coming from afar and wish to drive to the lake, you can exit 580 on Grand/Lakeshore, go up MacArthur and turn right on Wesley. You will avoid the blocked off streets this way. Make sure to check a map so you can meet up with us before we set off!
