Might be the last one for a while...
My wife and I will be doing this 23 mile route at a relaxed pace to train for the Tour de Peninsula. No drop, non-stop, 8-10mph rolling pace. A HELMET IS REQUIRED, as are a spare tube and a way to inflate it. IF YOU MISS THE SAFETY TALK YOU MAY NOT JOIN THE RIDE. We will roll at 10am promptly. Please check your bike's condition at least 24 hours in advance as these rides sometimes bring out riders who haven't ridden their bikes for a while. I don't drive so I can't advise where people should park. Remember, you’ll have your bike with you so you don’t need to park close to the start. Bring plenty of water, wear sunscreen and in SF it’s wise to carry an extra layer of clothing with you. A windbreaker is usually enough. Roads are 100% paved and the routes are chosen for minimal traffic and wide shoulders, I know these roads well. Safety and comfort on the road is paramount.
The statue is at the very East end of the Golden Gate Park Panhandle across from the DMV.
Anyone expecting a faster pace should not join. If you have to walk hills this route isn't for you as there are a number of hills in it.
