Route: Half Moon Bay - Pigeon Point loop (road bikes)
Distance: 50 miles
Climb: 4100 feet total gain
Start: Coastside fire station, 1191 Main Street, Half Moon Bay CA. Plenty of street parking.
Meet at 10:00 am sharp near the fire station, leave soon afterwards. Rain cancels.
Ride south on Hwy 1 to Pigeon Point Lighthouse then head back north mostly on inland roads, with a rest stop in Pescadero around mile 30. A beautiful ride if it is a sunny day. A decent-sized shoulder along most of Hwy 1.
Pace will be generally moderate (16-18 mph on flats). Not recommended for beginners.
This IS NOT guaranteed no-drop ride. You should be a self-sufficient rider and able to navigate by yourself if you get separated. I will supply cue sheets.
If you're interested in carpooling, I'm leaving from the Outer Richmond neighborhood in SF and can take one passenger.
