In San Francisco on the last Friday of each month, thousands of bike enthusiasts take to the streets in a Critical Mass ride as a mobile protest and celebration of our city streets on bicycles, skates, unicycles or whatever rolls by people power. Before the ride, the participants gather at Justin Herman Plaza, by the beginning of Market St. and Embarcadero. The entire Justin Herman Plaza usually fills up for Critical Mass. You can find Anna by her description of pink handlebars on a road bike. They are pink wrapped not anodized if that makes it any clearer. Or look for Jeff on a blue-purple Specialized MTB. A good meeting spot is just to the side of the pedestrian arcade between Market & Embarcadero on the arcade side of the green pay lav.
The Critical Mass Ride is a rolling block party, a festival on wheels. Costumes and party decorated bikes are encouraged. Bring your friends!!!
