Announcing a new Meetup for Bay Area Cycling (Mountain & Road)!

What: Road ride from Oakland hills to either Three bears or Sunol and back. ~60 miles

When: June 18,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: I have Thursday off and want to go for a road ride, to either Sunol or Three bears. Both rides are long and have about 3300 to 3600 ft ascent. They both feature backroads with little car traffic and great scenery.
I am starting the ride from the convenience of my home because I don't have a car.

One route goes from my place to Redwood road, Moraga, three bears loop, and comes back thru Tilden and skyline blvd. It features a big ascent at the beginning, then descent and flats, and then a constant ascent, until it finishes with a fast descent.
The total distance is about 54 miles, with about 3700 ft of ascent.

The second one goes from my place to Redwood, passing through Chabot, then Castro Valley, down to Sunol (on a nice down hill back road), then up to San Ramon, Norris Canyon, back to Castro Valley and Chabot, then back home. The total distance is 64 miles, with an ascent, of about 3300 ft. This route has the climbs and descents in the first half, until mile 25, then it becomes pretty much flat or with a gradual mellow climb.
The link is here:

Allocate about 5 to 6 hours for the ride
