Film Group Update: Additional Crew for Short in SF, Friday Evening 4/26; Next Film Exchange in May
Additional Crew Needed for Short Film in SF on Friday, April 26 from 6:30-10 p.m. Premier at Castro Theater
We’re looking for some additional crew for a short film being shot Friday night, April 26. The director has added an additional day to our schedule to get some night shots, besides our regular shooting days on the 27-28. We’d like the crew to help with sound, lights, and working with the actors. We have finished casting. This is an all volunteer project, produced by Changemakers Productions in cooperation with Scary Cow, and the short will be premiered at the Castro Theater July 6. We expect a lot of interest in the video since we will be using this to pitch a full length feature to get funding, have a website for the film, and will doing a lot of publicity for a crowdfunding campaign. We already have about half the budget needed from two investors. So there will be an opportunity for participating in the feature where everyone is paid, expected to film in July or August.
Called THE SUICIDE PARTY, the film is about a once successful businessman who can’t find work after a layoff and is about to lose his house and everything he holds dear. He decides to hold a suicide party with the help of his friends, and if he can raise enough to save his house and get back on his feet, he’ll live. If not he’ll end it all. The announcement of the party leads to a media frenzy and unexpected results.

Next Film Exchange in May
The next Film Exchange, which is like a focus or discussion group to share ideas and get feedback on whatever you are working on, will be in San Francisco on May 21st or 22nd. I’ll be posting this in about a week, once I know what else is going on that week, so I don’t conflict with other film events.
