Tomorrow is Vegan night at Shango!  Don't miss out and RSVP today!

The Buffalo Vegetarian Society is excited to announce we have teamed up with Yelp! for what will hopefully be the first of many vegan nights at WNY's favorite restaurants.

What: Vegan Prix Fix Dinner - 3 courses for $25+ tax and gratuity

Where: Shango Bistro and Wine Bar, 3260 Main Street, Buffalo

When: November 12, 2013, 5pm-10pm

How: See instructions at the bottom of this e-mail!

Why: To eat some great food and show local restaurants the vegan/vegetarian (vegan) community would support them if they offered vegan fare

Tired of hearing how great all the chefs and restaurants in WNY are only to find their menu is nothing but animal-based meat?

This project was conceived to let the vegan community experience what the best restaurants in town have to offer while simultaneously proving to those restaurants that there is a demand for cruelty-free food and drinks.  At the least, we hope to put chefs on notice so they always have a recipe in their pocket ready to go when a vegan request is made.  Hopefully, we can get vegan dishes featured on the regular menu for everyone to try.

Yelp has a great reputation with local restaurants and has been able to help make some in roads into the restaurant world.  As soon as Yelp learned about this project, they wanted to help.  The current plan is to have the first handful of events co-sponsored by Yelp and then BVS will take over the project and hopefully get enough restaurants interested to keep it going year round. (Getting a few more vegetarians and vegans writing reviews on Yelp will also bolster our efforts, and Yelp would love to have us!)

1st Step: RSVP for your party via Yelp to get on the list - http://www.yelp.com/events/buffalo-yelps-nomalicious-vegan-dinner-shango

2nd Step: Make a reservation for your table by calling Shango at (716)[masked] and mention "Yelp's Vegan Dinner"

RSVP on Yelp as soon as you can because this event will hopefully fill up very fast!

Have a restaurant you'd love to see on the list? Leave a comment on the Yelp page, and we will work on it! We hope the continued success of these events will win over even the most reluctant chefs.

Please also join our Facebook event on this exciting Yelp event, and start talking with others about it! https://www.facebook.com/events/749629785052678/
