Our Victoria Park skate is a favorite skate route for us through the beautiful neighborhoods of Ft. Lauderdale's Victoria Park and the Las Olas Isles areas!!!
We'll meetup at 9:00 am at Holiday Park which is just off Sunrise Blvd in Ft. Lauderdale. Park in the parking area next to the tennis courts and we'll start our skate at 9:15 am.
SKATE DETAILS: We'll begin by skating south through the Victoria Park area. Victoria Park is an upscale revitalized historic area where many homes date back into the 1920's and it is one of Ft. Lauderdale's oldest communities (http://www.cflca.org/... (http://www.cflca.org/content/view/60/38/))
From there we'll wind our way south through the Brickell Drive area which stretches along the New River for a short distance before we skate east on Las Olas along the many different Isles, to the Sunset Lake neighborhood. Along this stretch of the skate there is some very pricey real estate with gorgeous views of the Intracoastal. We'll be skating the various Isles where the less ambitious can wait it out while others skate up and back down the isle.
At the end of the skate we'll regroup in Holiday park and decide which restaurant to visit for brunch. Remember to bring sunscreen, snacks and water for the skate itself. This a D level (or strong C level) skate (see the About Us page for a description of the levels) and the total distance for the skate will be about 12 miles (a little less if you sit-out some of the isles).
