Heather's Half Moon Night Dive

The moon is half full and the lobsters are restless.  Heather says it is time to hit the surf and harvest those late season stragglers.  We have an extra hour of daylight to burn anyway, so we will use it to gather and gear up just south of the pier.  Then, we'll buddy up and hit the happy hunting grounds.

This is a night dive so divers should have experience with that unless they make prior arrangements with Tom for instruction.  Lobster hunters MUST have a valid license and a gauge.  Also, divers MUST have a primary light and a backup light.  Tank markers are recommended, as well.

Parking meters take cash or credit at $1.75 per hour.  Freshwater showers are available but no restroom except in the restaurant (emergency use only).  Of course, the Quarterdeck is available for after dive rum punches and other celebratory gestures.

Rough water and high winds. Heather's friend came in from out of town and was determined to go out. They braved the weather and went out anyway. I hope they had a successful lobster hunt.

Wind is holding steady from the NNW at 6kts but small craft advisory out for boats off shore. John can ensure buddy teams have a plan. Meet up near the small, pink restroom building.

We are watching the conditions carefully. Wind shifting from the west to the northeast and strengthening. If more than 12 knots steady at 5pm, I will postpone to another time. Otherwise, visibility is good and water is comfortable.
