Outer Reef Dive-Grouper Quest

We found the second reef on our last dive in about 40-45 feet of water.  There were pretty reef mounds, ledges and caverns.  Really nice fish habitat.  We snagged some nice Hogs from the area.  We are doing it again!

Hollywood North Beach Park has a nice inner 1st reef full of small caves, fan tails, reef ledges and gorgonians. These are all prime location indicators for finding Hogfish, Triggerfish and to seek out the evasive Grouper.  This time we are going to cruise over the first reef and travel eastward to the second reef.

The general plan is to gear up, cross the street enter the water from the beach at the Northern of the park. We will then swim out approximately 0.75 miles to the 1st ledge and head east from the ledge and go a little deeper in search of grouper.  We can always bag a few worthy Hogs on the way.  Let the hunt continue!
