The quiet and peaceful Noble Woods Park Trails are near Orenco in Hillsboro. The area is 38 acres of wetlands along Rock Creek, Upland forests and meadows with paved, gravel and soft chip loop trails throughout. There are natural areas with view points, board walks and bridges over the creek. There are homes in the area, fenced off from the park.
The trails are rolling to hilly and we might be lucky enough to see squirrels, chipmunks, beavers, tree frogs, raccoons and an occasional bat.
Its a great area for birding - with chickadees, winter wrens, blue herons, ducks, Brown Creepers, Tree Swallows, hawks and turkey vultures.
Plants and trees consist of - rose hips, snowberry, Pacific dogwood, western hemlock, Douglas fir, alders, ash, maples and cedar (some near 100 years).
In the fresh water streams and ponds there are crawfish, fresh water mussels and small fish.
There are restrooms, water fountains and picnic tables. Socialize later and bring a picnic lunch.
Leashed dogs are permitted; please be sure to clean up after your dog.
