Harrington Road, South Kensington, London
With some of the most breathtaking vistas in Britain, Yorkshire is a very special place. Join us on this weekend trip to visit quaint villages and brooding moors of Bronte country and the splendid scenery of Fountains Abbey.
Saturday 18th March:
We will depart bright and early from South Kensington on board our comfortable coach. Our first port of call will be Haworth, the heart of Bronte country. In the 1800s this pretty village was home to the beloved authors, the Bronte sisters. Visit the Bronte Parsonage Museum and discover their stories, before you have free time to explore the surrounding area. You could take a walk to the Bronte bridge, visit the parish church where the Bronte's vault lies, or even hike to Top Withens, believed to be the inspiration for Wuthering Heights.
Then we will head to our hotel, the Cedar Court Bradford. This is a very comfortable 4 star hotel with it's own bar, restaurant and even an on-site health club! Dinner and breakfast at the hotel are included in the cost of your trip.
Sunday 19th March:
After breakfast, we'll check out of the hotel and travel North to enjoy the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden. You are free to explore this ruined Cistercian Abbey, the medieval deer park and the elegant Georgian water garden on this lovely estate.
Next, we will begin our journey South, but we have one last stop on the way. We will visit one of Britain's most stunning stately homes, Chatsworth. The house and it's lake are recognisable as Mr Darcy's Pemberly in the film version of Pride and Prejudice, so imagine Colin Firth emerging from the lake as you wander..!
As evening falls, we will continue our journey home to London in the comfort of our coach.
