• Photo Outing with Manny Sangapu at the Bob Jones Nature Center

    Needs a location

I want to help nature lovers discover local nature centers other than the Colleyville Nature Center.

Bob Jones Nature Center is one of those centers that offers a variety of photo opportunities: deer, birds, butterflies and other animals. It's located in Southlake, at 355 E Bob Jones Rd, Southlake, TX 76092.

For camera gear, I recommend a long, telephoto lens. I plan to take my Sigma[masked] for both wildlife and butterfly opportunities. Expect to walk about 1.5 miles around the nature preserve. It's mainly dirt paths and not sidewalks. I'll be wearing my hiking boots, but sneakers should be fine too. We'll meet south of the parking lot at the Pollinator Garden (see photo).

Depending on the timing at the end of the walk, we'll take a vote and possibly adjourn to Meat-U-Anywhere BBQ for lunch (91 Trophy Club Dr, Roanoke, TX 76262).

Please sign up by email by Wednesday 10/12/2022: [masked]

    Things to bring:
Gear: Telephoto lens like a[masked] or higher
Other items: It's a nature preserve so bring insect repellent. I plan to wear pants, hiking boots and long sleeves. Sneakers are fine too.

Address: 355 E Bob Jones Rd, Southlake, TX 76092
Time to meet: Saturday 10/15/2022 9:00AM at the Pollinator Garden

There is a porta-potty available outside. (Unfortunately, the office and restroom are not open to the public.)
We'll meet at the Pollinator Garden just south of the parking lot

A map of BJNC and an image of the pollinator garden are attached.
