Session 6: Be focused!
“Instead of looking at the past, I put myself ahead twenty years and try to look at what I need to do now in order to get there then.” - Diana Ross
Friendship is one of the most complex things we do as human beings, and yet it’s not something we’re taught at school. Befriend are running a series of events to explore the art and science of friendship so that you can learn how to make new friends or deepen your existing relationships.
If you’ve ever pondered the following questions, then this series is for you!
Why do we become friends with some people and not others? Why do we sometimes lose touch with our best school or university friends? How can we become friends with people outside of work/uni/cafe/church/footy team/choir etc? Why do we struggle to make new friends in a new city? Why do we struggle to make friends, full stop?
In Session Six of the series, you’ll learn about goal setting. We’ll talk about why it’s important to set goals for your relationships and you’ll learn how to be intentional in your actions to improve your social situation. You’ll create a plan that you can act on to meet more people or deepen your existing relationships. It is not necessary to have attended the other sessions in this series before attending Session Six.
What to expect: At the session, you can expect to meet people who, like you, want to learn about friendship and make new friends. You’ll take away some tips and tricks that you can incorporate into your life to help you make new friends or deepen your existing relationships and who knows, this might just be the place where a new friendship starts!
