Wombat Community Crafts & Boomerang Bags Northern Suburbs
Details
Join us as we reuse old sheets, duvets, pilowcases, tablecloths and even reluv old projects. We make funky material bags to take shopping instead of plastic bags as Boomerang Bags.
But we also make joey pouches, Uthanda dolls, premmie baby clothes for WA hospitals. We support local community needs by getting together over a cuppa and have a small imprint locally, within our state and Australia wide plus an international presence.
So far our Alkimos group has made over BB 3000 bags, saved manchester from landfill, responded passionately to wildife injured by bushfires by sewing & knitting pouches, sending 5 sachels of pouches & medical supplies to NSW, then toasted our achievements with a good coffee and a tiny (in my opinion) piece of cake.Any of these activities could be happening at Sprout.
Now we're expanding outside of Alkimos. We have a new home to host these activities in Merriwa, still in the Northern Suburbs corridor. Lots to do and lots Boomerang Bags to be made on the day. Be as creative and funky or as you dare! It's all good fun.
We meet weekly on a Thursday afternoon in Merriwa from 12 till 4pm. Please call Annie our co-ordinator for further details on 0437 79 89 79
