This meetup will be about behavior design and e-coaching. Your smartphone is a perfect coach helping you to realize goals in sports and health. And in the future it might even be some sort of physician, learning from you and helping you when necessary.
Date: thursday june 19th
Time: 15:30 - 18:00
Location: Somehow office, ground floor
Drinks start at 18:00, if there are soccer fans in the audience we'll find out how to stream Colombia – Ivory Coast ;)
1. Jelte Timmer, Rathenau Institute
Jelte recently co-authored on "keuzes voor de e-coach (http://www.rathenau.nl/publicaties/publicatie/keuzes-voor-de-e-coach.html)". In this publication they search for the boundaries of technological influence. How far can technology go to learn and influence behavior?
2. Ben Kröse, Digital Life Center
Ben Kröse (http://staff.science.uva.nl/~krose/) is working at Digital Life Center (http://www.digitallifecentre.nl) and professor at University of Amsterdam.
The Digital Life Centre is a research lab at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. The lab focuses on sensors and digital information in everyday life. Applied research is carried out on technology, big data and design methods.
At the University his group studies learning and adaptive models for sensing, reasoning and interaction. At the Hogeschool they work on applications in smart houses, public spaces and eHealth.
For this meetup we're going to do something new. An open stage. Most of use apps and services that help or coach us.
It might be the Nike+ app, Fitbit or a service we have never heard of.
We invite you to share your experiences with e-coaching services. What did you like, when did you start using it or stopped using it and why? Share your experiences.
Or maybe you are developing an e-coaching service yourself?
The format will be a short 5 min. Q&A. If you would like to share your experiences, send an e-mail to [masked] .
